One of my friends gave me In God We Trust today.

The lyrics are way too preachy for my liking, but when you get past them, it's actually some pretty damn cool AOR flavoured melodic metal!

Great guitar harmonies and stuff! Love the bumble bee look too hahahahahahahhaa!

In God we trust, in god we must believe - oooooooh woah woah.

Something like that anyway. I really liked Stryper when I was kid, wanted to see them play at Festival Hall but I was too young. :(

I don't blame your parents for not letting you go! I mean come on, a Stryper concert would be full of all kinds of debauchery and madness! :p ;)

Well, it involved going on the train late at night and stuff. And it was a long trip back then cos I didn't live in Brisbane. The actual gig wouldn't have been a problem.

The one before In God We Trust is actually a much better album :)

Stryper were brilliant until they decided to not be so 'Christian'.

Yeah I've heard that "To Hell With The Devil" is their best album but I haven't heard any of it.

I've heard a little from "Against The Law" which is when they went less Christian and personally the little I've heard sounds better than In God We Trust I think..

To Hell... is awesome, and Soldiers Under Command is the one that broke them (although To Hell took them into the big gigs) - Soldiers is my favourite.

Soooooldieeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrs, Sol-wol-diers, Unnn Derrr Command!

I've gotta find myself some Stryper CDs. I saw a Stryper tribute album at Chandlers years ago, but haven't seen any actual albums since back in the day.

Must be 1989 I'm thinking of then... but then I'd been to see Poison that year, so one would think seeing them that year wouldn't have been a problem.

Ah, now I remember - I would have been going by myself into the big city.

Joe - what's "Dream of the Beast"?

That's the DT bootleg concert that has TNOTB on it from Paris that Salty gave us the link to.
I downloaded the whole shebang, and just have it going around and around and around...

I also saw Poison in 1989. Was so desperate to see another concert after seeing Metallica on the Damaged Justice tour at the Hordern that year, that I had to see them.
Probably would have been better if we weren't in the VERY BACK ROW!!!

I went to both festival hall gigs, and in 2000 went to new jersey to the first stryper expo where they played together for the first time in 10 years or so. They are great guys to hang with too!!!
