Who likes (or liked, I should say) these guys?

I was just reflecting today about my high school days, and how, on baseball roadtrips some of us would sit in the back of da bus and jam to ST. How Will I Laugh Tomorrow was always a favorite, as was Lights, Camera, Revolution.

Your take on them?

I fell in love with them at 5 years old when I heard Institutionalized, I still regard it as one of the best songs ever written. I've owned several of their albums over the years but have either lost or sold them, foolishly. I need to go apeshit and buy the entire discography one of these days.

I know. I used to own a bunch of their stuff, and probably sold them back in high school or college. I've seriously thought about buying a bunch of them again.

I like how to piss off Sony, half the songs on Suicidal For Life had FUCK in the title. It may have produced some of the worst lyrics known to man, but the songs still kicked ass.

That album didn't go down to well with fans for whatever reason. Like you, I actually thought it was pretty good. Mindless, but still catchy.

The intro to No Bullshit is one of the heaviest moments committed to tape, and Love vs. Loneliness is one of my favorite ballads. Mike Muir was funny, I didn't need intelligence from him.

I think everyone should own their debut, including myself since I don't.

My fave was always How Can I Laugh Tomorrow..., with COntrolled By Hatred right behind.

The debut was a little too "punk" for me, but it's still great.

Eh, Sorath found a CD by them in his brother's room and I heard it. WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH THAT SINGER I ASK!?!?!
Do you remember which one it was?

ANd do you mean to imply his vocals sucked or his lyrics are just "out there"? Or both?

:Saint: saw st live a couple of times in belfast
first time they were crap, well not crap just not raging second time was amazing
MOD were supporting and billy milano was walking through the crowd after looking 'hard' etc
someone :Saint: gave him a big toe pointer boot up the arse
didn't look so hardcore then... "did you kick my ass motherfucker?" hahahahahahahahaha... he was sooo pissed
off topic but the latest mod album is the biggest pile of stinking shite I've heard in ages

back to suicidal.. they've had some great albums and fantastic songs,
institutionalised is one of the best songs ever!

....just one pepsi...you're on drugs... no I'm not I just want a pepsi

Dont get me started on the ol ST. I was a huge fan of them growing up, and still listen to them on occasion to relive my past. They had some great songs, and even their last few albums which are more like infectious grooves are still pretty decent, even though they haven't been metal in quite some time.

that's my 2 cents.

and i still have a vunyl st sticker on my truck..

Cyco Miko was never an awesome vocalist, but his lyrics were always interesting. And yes, Institutionalized is classic. The lyrics in that song are so damn funny.

THe only ST albums worth owning IMO are:

s/t
How Will I Laugh Tomorrow
Controlled by Hatred/Feel Like Shit...Deja Vu
Lights...Camera...Revolution
The Art of Rebellion

Suicidal for Life is hit or miss with most. I liked it, though. Join the Army blew ass.

I never liked Art of Rebellion, except Nobody Hears which was brilliant. Then again if I remember correctly, the "watch out stomach, here come banana" is found on that album so that makes it worth owning.

I'll halfway agree with you. Art of Rebellion had some great songs like Can't Stop, Nobody Hears, and wasn't Gotta Kill Captain Stupid on that album?

but yeah, it had a lot of crap too.

I win! I had long forgotten that part and laughed my ass off at your post. :D

Yeah Capt. Stupid kicked ass too. I just need to buy all those one of these days, or if they ever put a boxset out or something.

I hear ya. Just thinking about rockin' to Pledge Your Allegiance is making me want to buy all those albums from half.com
