And on Metalfest pages it says that they're one of the headliners in Czech Republic, Pilsen on 21-23 of May.

HI!
21-23 May (HU) BUDAPEST / Metalfest
I would like to know weather someone could make it possible that my favourite band (Amon Amarth :p) could come on the 22 or 23 of May to Hungary. You know, I have a language examination on 21-22 of May. I can't wait going to the conciert and my heart would broke if I couldn't (this would be my first Amon Amarth conciert as I couldn't go to the previous ones here, in my home country).
I would be so gratefull. :)
Thanks!

I hope they come to wacken. Nothin would beat the lineup. Slayer, Maiden and AA.:headbang:

According to the festival homepage, Amon Amarth are scheduled to play Metaltown, to which I already have tickets :D

Ah, sometimes it can be a good thing to use the "wish for artists section" :headbang:

Since AA are doing
18 June (CH) JONSCHWIL / Sonisphere Festival
I'm guessing they'll play Saturday 19th at Metaltown.

Happy days :)

Now book Hypocrisy to that festival too, and I'll not ask for anything more for a while :D

What do you reckon the odds are of them playing rock am ring (june 4th-6th)?

I wouldn't say the odds for this to happen are very high....

AA maybe are kinda "Mainstream Death Metal" but they're not THAT mainstream ;)

Hey vikings, will you come to hungary to the METALFEST OPEN AIR with some official merchandise? Will I be able to buy some of your official T-Shirts there?

Going there as well.

Any suggestions where to eat and drink in Göteborg?
Found some restaurants from the official Göteborg site, but don't know which of them are decent. Preferably somewhere in the city center area and also some pub recommendations would be appreciated too. :)

I mainly go to bars with a good and/or huge beer selection.
It's not cheap, but it's good ;)

A place with nice food and a good beer selction that is the closest to Metaltown is "Ölrepubliken".
http://www.olrepubliken.se/

There are 3 bars in the "Bishops Arms" chain of pubs in the city,
the closest one to the festival being "Plaza / Västra Hamngatan"
http://www.bishopsarms.com/Goteborg_Plaza_Presentation_DXNI-744_.aspx
the more central located at Avenyn "Park"
http://www.bishopsarms.com/Goteborg_Park_Presentation_DXNI-701_.aspx
and one slightly more "off" from the centre, but located more around the bar streets "Järntorget"
http://www.bishopsarms.com/Goteborg_Jarntorget_Presentation_DXNI-50689_.aspx
The food on these 3 are similar, the beer selection varies a bit. Avenyn has some cask/real ale if lucky, Järntorget focus more on stout/porter for their guest taps. The BA pubs tend to be rather pricey, but with high quality.

One bar that is awesome for a nice session with great beers is "3 Små Rum", not far from Avenyn. The food is more to the Persian style, the taps focus mainly on Swedish micro. Huge bottled beer selection.

One of the best value food selections and the most educated/knowledgable beer staff in town you'll find at "The Rover" on Andra Långgatan, not far from Järntorget. Also a big whisky selection.

One of the cheapest places for good ber in town is "Haket", right next to an awesome Japanese restaurant (Yamato) with the same owners.

If looking more for "metal places" I'd say that "Rockbaren" would be the best one. Centrally located, food is nice as far as I know, the toilets are finally renovated and they do have at least one good beer.

The club "Sticky Fingers" are doing afterparties for both Friday and Saturday after the festival.

Let me know if you need any more info, I guess all the websites listed are in Swedish.
You know where you'll be staying hotel/hostel wise as well?

Oh, additional comments to me previous entry.
Some of the restuarants listed on your mentioned site are counted among the very best in Göteborg.
Also of course very very expensive.

Nice to see the boys playing in Japan. Should draw a sell-out crowd for some nice exposure.

-edit-

I guess it won't be much of a summer festival being that it's scheduled for October...

playlist now online for Metaltown festival

Random rant:
AA plays at 17:30 (one hour), which feels rather early, but since they're my last must-see band of the festival, I guess I can start drinking for real at 18:31 then.

For those not familiar with the festival, no I can not drink while they play if I want to be in the festival area, no alcohol permitted, need to go to the beer tents and stay there.

Hey, it's Sweden and it's a festival that allows 13 year olds, nothing to do about it...

Thanks for those links gnoff, much appreciated.

Nice, trying to visit some of those pubs if the time is on my side. Seeing that quite many pubs open at 4 or 5 pm and closes around midnight (for example 3 små rum) it may be a bit problematic to be at the festival at the same time.

The Rover pub opens early on Saturday and Ölrepubliken is open early on Thursday and Friday so those two for granted. Ölrepubliken goes without saying as no one can resist a place with that kind of name. :D

Will stay at Grand Hotel Opera on the old side there. Should be quite near to the festival area.

Swedish is no problem as I speak it too, the only thing that might cause problems is the different types of dialects...

One thing about the tickets which you can change to armband, does this mean you can come and go many times per day or is it so that you can only get in once?

Mhmm, how about to order some beer at the beer tent and then pour into a beer horn and sneak out into the audience. ;)

Yeah, Opera is damn close, you can walk to the festival pretty much by crossing the bridge, you'll be there in 15-20 minutes or so.
Also you'll be very close to Ölrepubliken.

Once you get the festival area band, you should be able to come and go as many times as you like.
O course there might be a queue and all that, but nothing more than that.
