Metallica should open for COB instead... anyway, it's kind of cool to be the opener and play a short set for an overrated overpopular band, and so obviously wipe the floor with the headliner, and make all Metallica fans realize they're into the wrong shit.

Let's say COB have 10 songs... this would be the kind of set to appeal to Metallica fans:

I have to agree with Joonas on this one. Surprise surprise... Metallica isn't even halfway at the musical level as CoB. They are massively overrated and IMO it's not good music. However I value them highly for influensing so very many good bands!

Metallica is just easily accessible due to their neutral vocals and simple music. I'm sorry but this is the way to put it. COB's musical skills and creativity are on a completely different level to Metallica's. The masses always like shit that's easy to access for the dumb mind. COB is incredible because they're hated due to their extreme nature, but still loved due to their creativity and skill to the point they actually are famous enough to open a concert for a 'metal beginner' band such as Metallica.

COB are not supposed to be one of these bands that are liked by everybody in the world. Their extreme vocals and aggressive music take care it stays like that despite them having most of the greatest melodies etc ever invented.

How can you fucking claim COB are mall-core at best and are nothing next to Metallica? Fuck off.

I liked Metallica until I was 18 as my understanding in music grew deeper and I realized Metallica is for beginners and is loved even by Homer Simpson. I respect some of their stuff, mostly the older albums like Master of Puppets, but it's just music for the general public, and I'm into something more special.

I think it's more to do with musical understanding. Sure there's lyrical and even musical content in Bodom suitable for the young ones, but there surely is great music there that's just too fast, high pitch, aggressive and lyrically inaudible for the general population. This guy doesn't think Bodom is uninteresting. I think energetically Bodom is quite superficial, yet however their depth lies in musical creativity and technicality- Sometimes they even have mysterious and atmospheric soundworlds. You ignorant witch.

Clearly intoxicated? It's just the way he talks on stage, to get better connection from drunk youngsters. This music is a release, way to channel anger, and to feel uplifted, it bodes well with alcohol as it has the same effect, this is why many find Bodom in their teens while partying.

Some music I found when I was 4 (Japanese anime music) still is some of the best music I know. Can't see your point. Sometimes it goes this way. FTR was the 2nd CD I ever bought and remains the favorite, quite weird, while the first one remains in top 5. Guess I've just been fucking lucky to find the best stuff early. You should relate to Bodom like you relate to a friend: he's annoying and too different in many aspects, but there's something you share that connects and is fun and enjoyable. You can still call him your friend, instead of saying "nah that guy ain't my friend". There's a situation and place for everything; you shouldn't play Bodom from your office CD-player at work, as you would probably get fired, but at home and in your car etc you can let your animal loose. Why downgrade yourself completely because of what others think.
