Just got to see this last night... amazing show. I only really cared to see Ion Dissonance, Daath, and Necrophagist, but there were some other good bands. The Faceless weren't able to play, which was a bit disappointing given that I've been hearing good things about them and liked most of a clip I heard a while back. Arsis was great - it was scary how much their bassist looked like Marty Friedman, and he was jumping around the stage, playing over the top of the neck, and getting the crowd into it much better than the singer seemed to be able to. Ion Dissonance played a good set - some asshole off to the side just kept yelling that they sucked and should stop playing, but they took that in stride and just played better, which is a rare and admirable thing (especially given the shithole they were playing in). They were cool to talk to when they were manning the merch table - they were giving out a CD and a shirt for $20 (compared to the $35 I'd have paid for a shirt and CD from Necrophagist, I'm surprised they offered it that low), and when I asked about getting my liner signed the singer ran around the venue trying to get the rest of the guys for me. After their set I just waited around for Daath - there were a couple of bands there who didn't attract anyone but ninja-kicking sixteen-year-olds, but fortunately that garbage ended before too long. Daath's set was great, if a bit short, and their sound was impressive for the second stage of an already-shitty venue. Necrophagist just kicked ass - I got my hands on a setlist, I can post it if anyone's interested (it seemed like they were doing the same songs every night of the tour), and they did fortunately have their lead guitarist.
