Summer Slaughter Tour 2007

Oh, really... I was told they wouldn't be playing there, I saw the merch table but didn't think they had everyone together.

The Necrophagist solo seemed pretty 'stock' most of the time, but the guy has chops and some of the stuff there sounded almost like it would fit in a jazz setting if he weren't bashing it so hard.

I don't think that's valid reason to dismiss what I'm saying - if anything I'm still stuck in jazz-woodwind mode after spending almost half my life on that stuff, and I have tried to put a lot of time into drumming so I do think I can have some respect for it. He did some really cool stuff - like I said right after 'stock' - but a chunk of that seemed like he had to throw in some gratuitous impressive-but-generic showy chops. There's nothing wrong with that - he certainly earned it and did it well - but given some of the more 'out' stuff he was doing up there I'd be very curious to see how he'd work in fusion.
