I was wandering what the band´s take on taping and trading their live shows is.

As far as i know they don't mind. As long as you don't try to make money out of it.

I have always been told that taping a live show was illegal. If that was done anyway you'd certainly not go around telling you did that in a place where the band visits regularly. :p
Anyway, we all know some people just tape shows and spread these recordings. However I leave it up to the band to respond to what they think you can do with yours.
 
We have allowed individuals to tape shows provided we get a copy and they don't try to profit from it. Whether they choose to trade after that is out of our control. As far as I'm concerned it is good for the band for people to see us live even in a less than optimal form. It creates more interest in coming to the show and experiencing it first hand. That's why Metallica actually designates a part of their seating to those who would like to tape.
