drunk to be rebellious? its not very rebelious when the alcohol was legally obtained. Of course that's just me.

What are the drinking laws like in Norway anyway?

My drunk threads / posts are a bit indicative of my drunk antics in person. You don't just wander around NYC in the middle of the night leaving strange messages on people's answering machines while sober you know! :Spin:

Drinking in itself is not a rebellious act unless your motivation is to defy authority instead of or in addition to getting wasted, and using alcohol in youth posturing is a conformist act...Henrik may have been right, the first posts here read like a parody of earlier drunken ramblings... :)

Yes ... I have to say that NAD is the real deal ... he called me piss drunk 2 times in the middle of the night when he was in NYC. Once at around 12 AM and then at around 3AM ... both were on my voice mail the next morning.

The 3AM sounded something like this .... "Dude, holy wiger fukcing wasted ... hehehhahahhahh ... where are you? ... I don't know where I am, i think I am lost ... hahhheehhe ,.,,, holy shit ! " .. CLICK :D

This dude is the real deal I tell you ... I just have one regret that I did not save the messages and create a wav file for all :loco:

That is so awesome. I remember leaving the first message, it was before I stumbled upon that bar. The second must've been afterwards, last thing I remember is not even asking for a refill but the bartender saying "what was he drinking?" to the guy in the back and them just refilling my glass with Bombay Sapphire and tonic. :loco:

It's just that I'm not a big admirer of people whose main goal when drinking is to get drunk, just for the sake of being drunk. If I drink, I don't get drunk (yes, I can hear all the "Pansy alert!" screams), it's mainly because of the taste of what I am drinking, and the social part.

Drunken ramblings on internet message boards sort of remind me of the behaviour of Norwegian youth. The drinking culture here is totally foolish - don't drink at all in weekdays, not even a bottle of beer or a glass of wine with your dinner, but get as drunk as possible in the weekends. It's popular to show all your friends just how drunk you are by screaming "HI LOOK AT ME" (almost), hugging the sidewalk, and imitating water fountains (only it's sick that's coming out of your mouth, not water).

I'm not saying that people who post their drunken ramblings on internet message boards are exactly like these. They only remind me of them, in a way. My "attention-seeking" alarm goes off when reading such threads, although I might be wrong - the reasons for such threads might just be for the fun of it all. I also get this "Sigh.. It's not funny, seen it before, try harder" feeling.

And @ Nico: You have to be 18 to legally obtain soft liquor, and 21 to get booze.

Nothing wrong with this at all, alcohol goes great with food and getting loaded before doing the dishes can be dangerous. :D

I see your point, you're against the binge drinking foolishness of it all. Lots of that in the US too, all the parties with beer bongs and chugging of bottles. I only binge in Vegas, and that I think only once.

No. No. for various reasons...

The once "drunk" episode I had was when I was drunk and typed a message to my friend. Amazingly, it made sense. I'm also a lot more friendly and easygoing when I'm drunk.

I never binge drink though, it's bad for my medical problems. In my family, getting drunk isn't a big deal. Like where they're from, kids routinely drink and there is no age limit. So yeah.

Hahahaha

I drank a Young's chocolate stout last night, and tonight I'll drink a Diabolique Belgian. I've missed drinking a beer or two during the week, summer doesn't provide much enjoyment for dark and / or heavy beers.
