this band released 14 things and 6 full-lengths in 2008 alone. how the fuck would i know where to start? point me in a direction.

Truth Becomes Death, Touched and Skin Turns to Glass have excellent parts in them. But this band does have a lot of poop as well judging from feedback. Their releasing pace is dubious, I guess every single note they produce lands on a CD somehow.

okay i downloaded touched because i didn't want to buy a cd until i was sure this was going to be something i enjoy because i get very suspicious when bands release this much stuff

turns out it's pretty pointless and boring

four songs, four riffs

i don't know

all i know is that i was told nadja was similar to the angelic process and they are not

i've never been able to get into Aidan Baker's stuff

i hear he puts on good live shows and he's from around here so maybe i'll check it out sometime
some people are CRAZY about this kind of stuff, not me though

well both are about extracting "emotion" from noise aren't they. The Angelic Process goes (went) about in a more dramatic fashion with plenty of uplifting atmosphere while Nadja are more heavily into, well, noise.

Speaking of Skepticism should I buy Alloy blind? I suppose I will anyway but what's the word from people who heard it?

i thought nadja sounded a lot more conventional actually -- it's basically a couple of metal riffs recorded with very thin guitar sound and a bunch of generic ambient drones that are 9 dB louder

yes you should buy alloy blind

it's surprisingly a lot more melodic and "accessible" than farmakon -- it's much more like lead & aether or even stormcrowfleet than it is what you would expect from skepticism 2008

Hmmmm....I recommended Fleshpress and Hjarnidaudi thinking you wanted something more along the lines of Nadja. I still think you should check them out, but yeah, like Nadja, they aren't similar to The Angelic Process. Off the top of my head I can't think of much that rivals the warm, fuzzed out, epic noise of The Angelic Process.
