TESSERACT - Altered State album stream

I've been listening to it over and over. Even though no song shines way more than the other (there are one or two though, around the 3rd to 5th but I'm not even sure as I don't check the video while listening to it) I like the whole vibe. I like the aesthetics of the production although I don't particularly like the individuals (axe fx guitars notably). The whole mix is super clear and still not sounding irritatingly fake. I can tell it's super edited and all but knowing they are tight in the first place makes it credible enough to me

Oh come on, guys. It's Tesseract at it's finest. How can they not sound like themselves? This sound has been evolving and was polished for so many years. The vocals are great, really powerful and emotional, yet controlled. And yeah, the songs do not sound like pop hits with catchy choruses, but it's because the band never wanted to create catchy stuff (even though i've been constantly humming couple themes from Exile and Nocturne for the last two days). IMO this record is amazing both songwriting-wise and production-wise and has set the bar really high for any musician. It clearly shows that it's not enough to djent a random 32th pattern covered with hilarious growling to be called progressive. It has groove, it has melody, it's heavy and it's beautiful.

Album is flawless front to back, absolutely love it.

That video could be the worst thing I've seen since Limp Bizkit stopped making videos.

Sounds good. Not too keen on the singer but I could get used to his style with more listens. I thought they'd be much heavier than this.

I'm not keen on the sax sections after repeated listening; could easily lose them and not feel a thing.

I thought the video was pretty fucking good; it looks great and has a pretty sinister vibe to it. I like!
