Testament Appreciation

I also love the first 3 albums. Souls, Ritual, and Low lost me a little bit, but Demonic and The Gathering kick major arse. Reign of Terror is one of my favorite thrash tunes ever. Skolnick was an idol of mine for a while.

Saw them in 87 with Slayer at Lamour, and 6 other times.

You are dead on with my tastes as well. The Gathering and PWYP are close to masterpieces.

Btw... my fave Testament song has to be "Sins of Omission" from PWYP. I also think Louie Clemente was a little below the level of the other musicians in the band and it stuck out. I still totally dig Testament, but though I am a guitarist, totally ass-kinking drum fills were big with me when it came to thrash and Testament lacked a little in that department.

I can't believe no one mentions "The Gathering". Yea, it a bit weak on the leads department but what a kick ass album this is.

Listen to "DNR", "Legions of the Dead" or best of all; "Fall Of Sipledome" and tell me this is not a classic Testament thrash album! :headbang: Damnit, it even has Dave Lombardo drumming on it!

No go and listen to it!!
