I am on Testaments site checking out their sounds page.I clicked on the souls Of Black video and it says it's no longer available because of a copyright claim by WMG.
Are you telling me Testament can't use their own video on their own website! That is fucking absurd .Also I think it's time to take down the CD/Tshirt deal it doesn't work anymore...and a new song playing for the site! :)

You would be surprised how many bands do not actually OWN the albums which were released on bigger labels.

I am sure bands like Testament and Overkill, for example, don't own ALL their ATLANTIC material. I know bands like Vio-Lence and Trouble has had issues acquiring the rights to their albums on larger labels. The label figures if the band is going to reissue it on their own, it might be something in demand, so simple economics will indicate it will cost the band a LOT of money to acquire such rights.

Yeah but it seems counter productive to me to have a video that's already payed for from 20 years ago and not be able to use it on their own site. What is the point in that?I could see if it costs the company money or is taking money away from them, but it isn't If anything the company stands to make money it otherwise wouldn't.Some kid could see the video and say"wow I'm going to go buy practice what you preach" and then that money goes to Atlantic.Record companies suck ass! All the bands need to get together and start their own shit. Unfortunately it seems the rappers have them beat on this...of course rappers also get airplay and video play and promotion, and their shitty music is featured in every commercial, movie and TV show.did I mention record companies suck?!
