What? They're both amazing soloists, who pour a lot of emotion and creativity into their playing. Those guys have written some of my favorite solos, not because of how many notes they play, but for what they do with them.

But really, it's all a matter of opinion. I don't know why you're getting so defensive.
 
Like I said, I haven't heard enough of Devin Townsend. I was not getting defensive, just expressing my opinion. Maybe the "not" should not have been in capitals - sorry 'bout that. I was talking in the same way as you are: it's not the number of notes that count but what they do with them. I have seen Stolt several times and heard him on albums. As we both said - it's a matter of opinions.
