So apparently if you're a college student (or I guess any student with an e-mail account from a school that's in Microsoft's database) you can get Windows 7 for $30.

I don't mean to be a puppet of Microsoft or anything, but goddamn. The vast majority of us will probably end up getting this OS at some point in the next few years, so I figured I had to recommend the offer. Man was I glad my college e-mail address is still valid.
