The Ball is back...

NO
:OMG::OMG:
WAY!
If they show any clips of Rikki Rachtmann or any of the oldschool stuff, that would seriously be AMAZING!
Back in the day we used to get together on Saturday nights to party and watch the ball. My buddy was having a house party the night they first showed Metallica 'One'... the whole party stopped at that moment and everyone glued into the TV set for that 'historic' event

:pseemed so significant at the time...
Those were the days, huh?:tickled:

As long as it doesn't end up looking like VH1 Classic's all Metal weekend they had the other weekend. Hours upon hours of dreck with only one or two good videos an hour. Do you know what it was like trying to sit through bands like Pretty Boy Floyd and Warrant ad infinitum, ad nauseum to finally get to one video by Black Sabbath and Voivod? :ill: ugh!

Guys, don't get too excited. MTV will find a way to make it suck hard.. I predict endless nu metal videos, despite that genre being dead as a doornail, and not a single cool video from American and European bands. Not to mention a total putz for a host, like Iann Robertson or someone like that.

Rikki has a new radio show on KLSX 97.1 Saturday nights from Midnight to 2 am called "The Ball". Great metal and punk is being played.
He (Rikki) said he has been asked to host at least one episode of the new Ball on MTV2.

HEADBANGER'S BALL RETURNS TO MTV!

We have exclusively learned that Headbanger's Ball is returning to MTV....MTV2 that is, but that's good enough!
Juilya, who hosts Uranium on Much Music USA and has plugged Metal Sludge on her show, will be the new host. The initial show will also feature guest appearances from Iann Robinson and Riki Rachtman. No word yet as to when it'll debut but we'll keep you posted.
Of course this all happened about a month after Metal Sludge launched our own "Sludge & Awe" campaign against MTV. I guess the Sludgeaholics were heard after all! Now lets hope the show lives up to our expectations and shows a wide variety of videos.
