The Battle of San Bernardino

I would love for a guitar battle between Broderick and Skolnick, like the way Chris and Jeff Loomis would do it on Nevermore tours. That would be fun to watch.

I don't think Dan Nelson ever performed live with them. I could be wrong tho.

Yes Dan Nelson played a few live shows..one notable Thrash Domination Japan Aug 15 2008...the classic Anthrax line up would have beeen killer except Charlie wasn't with the band when they hit Vancouver twice 2012!!! Testament is awesome live..seen them 5 times..Megadeth seen them 4 times Overkill 3 times..Sabaton 1 time..my friends in Warbringer going to be 8 times in Nov 11!! it's 2 seperate stages so you need to choose!!! took this picture off of Warbringers FB page!

I guess they assume Heshers don't have jobs.

Shouldn't a concert in the middle of nowhere that many people have to drive 1-2 hours to that starts at 3 PM be on Saturday?

Anyway, I am pumped! As long as I make it for Megadeth I'm good!

My Review of the Venue in the Middle of Nowhere:

I assume every meth lab closed down for the evening, since they seemed to all be attending this event.

Megadeth!
Excellent opener. Great great show! They played Tornado of Souls and Holy Wars, but I wish they played Rust in Peace... Polaris too. I consider Dave Mustaine a true brilliant artist and it was great to have his band open up for Maiden.

Iron Maiden:
Bruce's singing was the best in years! He was totally going off! At times I couldn't believe the notes he was hitting. He was great last time, but I got concerned he may be going downhill, but this time was even better and it looks like he's going uphill!

Afraid to Shoot Strangers that night was one of the best things I've ever seen. Before the song Bruce said, "If you watch the news, which I don't, because it's all bad, you know what's going on. This song happens to be relevant to what's going on now."
That's the best to my memory. Bruce gave a stellar performance of it like he was on a Broadway show with so much emotion. Look for a video of it if you weren't there. Blew me away. The song is about a soldier on a battlefield hesitant to shoot his enemy as he sees he's just like him, but then I thought, that's like America as a nation is scared to shoot Syrians because they see we are just like them. It took the song to a whole new level.

The band was precision, but the sound was not right to me. I hate being such a perfectionist, and I really wish I wasn't, but I can't help it. It was too loud and unclear when Bruce would sing loud. It sounded almost like a blown speaker. Imagine you have a crappy stereo system, and when you turn it too loud it gets distorted. That is what the show sounded like to me at least some of the time. I don't think the band knew, as their monitors were probably good, but I don't understand why the sound engineers allowed this. It seemed like as simple problem to fix, but it never got fixed. It was frustrating me. If the sound was better, it may have been one of the best Maiden shows I've ever seen.
