Impossible choise... there's so many great solos.
Among many my favorites would be:

Metallica - Bleeding Me (Deffinetly the higlight of the Load ReLoad era)

Deep Purple - When A Blind Man Cries (So beautiful!!!)

Dream Theater - Under A Glass Moon
Dream Theater - Lines In The Sand

I'll throw a link to Lines in the sand here. The sound quallity isn't the best, but you still get the feeling. No wonder why they say Petrucci is god.

That kinda shit happens when you mix George Harrison and Eric Clapton.
Sure does. Speaking of last night I was smashed with my mates in the city and we got this busker to play While my guitar gently weeps so we could yell it with randoms haha. Gave him some change, he actually surprisingly played it quite well. I had him doing like 30 mins of Beatles haha.

I've never understood the whole Comfortably Numb thing....I mean, when I was 16 it was terrific but there's so much more music out there.........

Ditto.

Here's my list (guitarist in parenthesis):

BEST EVER:
Johansson, Johansson, Holdsworth - Beef Cherokee (Allan Holdsworth)

RUNNERS-UP:
Anything else from the J,J,H "Heavy Machinery" album (Holdsworth)
Meshuggah - Soul Burn plus a lot more (Fredrik Thordendahl)
Liquid Tension Experiment - When the Water Breaks - all solos! (John Petrucci)
Metallica - Ride the Lightning, My Friend of Misery, Wherever I May Roam (Kirk Hammett)
Steve Vai - For the Love of God
Armageddon - everything from the "Crossing the Rubicon" album (Chris Amott)
Pantera - Cemetery Gates (Dimebag Darrell)
Megadeth - almost anything of Marty Friedman

And lots that I can't think of right now...
