At any given time I own:

1-2 pairs of athletic shoes for general use
1 pair of black leather SAS work shoes, very durable and sufficiently dressy for business casual attire
1 pair of brown dress shoes (for outfits that don't go with black shoes)
1 pair of cowboy boots in leather and armadillo hide. Don't ask.

I cannot come up with a reason to own any more shoes.
