Uhm I don't like the fact that in the MOP "back cover" they put cliff.... MOP is a song about drug addition, so all those deaths are about addicted people...
The guy deserves some respect
The destruction cover is perfect, seems made by the same artist

The original artist likely wanted to create a dual meaning for the title "Master of Puppets" since those grave stones look the type for fallen american soldiers. There's even a soldier's helmet hanging from the side of one of the crosses - and none of that obviously has anything to do with drug addiction.

still the message of the song is about drug addiction... even though disposable heroes is about young fallen soldiers, so I guess why he put an helmet.

It's true that the ultimate message of the song IS drug addiction, but my point is that those aren't just any graves but specifically graves for american soldiers. The helmet was put there to further reinforce the point.

It's a pretty common trick to move the title meanings around when it comes to album covers, music videos and so on. It's a kind of clever way to tell a different story and make you think about the meanings a bit more.

I don't think that is necessarily it. The entire album focuses on some sort of invisible hand that controls and manipulates victims, whether is be drug/alcohol addiction, government, religious groups etc. I think the album cover is more depicting the story of disposable heroes more but playing around with the imagery of the omnipotent invisible hand controlling and exploiting from the title track that seems to be a common theme in all the songs of that album.
