Kiss and alice cooper might have influenced king diamond image wise as a vocalist. I'm not really sure about that though.

I think King has stated he has been influenced by Alice Cooper in his early days, especially for his stage show.

King's not a Kiss fan, though he has said that the lawsuit brought about by Gene $immon$ about trademark infringement for his makeup design did give King Diamond a lot of free publicity and made Gene look like a huge asshole.

Oh, getting back on topic, it can also be said that the two-finger salute originally came from the University of Texas Longhorns ("Hook 'em Horns!").
