hey joey, awesome mix as usual...one of my fav CDs atm...
just one thing i've noticed, theres alot of 'essing on the voice.... when i crank it in my car, i usually end up with a headache from it lol
i also just noticed that the voice on your 'miss may i' track also has some big essing in it.
Is it just me? Its the only album that gives me alot of that really high end hertz that eventually give me a headache... its even worse with good headphones![]()
anyone know what kind of an asshat would name their band that?![]()
joey, guitars are quadtracked?
and...diamond plate amp in pod again?
You didn't replace the cymbals too, did you Joey?

what would be the point in recording drums if i replaced the cymbals? lol
no the cymbals aren't replaced
nah
one guitar track per side
anything extra is centered
thanks joey.
2 rythmic guitars (1 per side)
in lead/solo parts you quadtracked that part and L50, R50 or you only tracked 1 take and panned centered?
thanks again,
I just bought this album and absolutly love it,
so this thread gets a bump.
Joey, may i ask, i am considering purchasing pod farm in the near future as i was very impressed with the guitars on this album.
is it actually worth the money to get the pod farm platinum, or would i be ok with the standard version?
also, may sound dumb, but are you using impulses or are you sending the pod farm signal out to a power amp and cab to be re-recorded?
Thanks man, and congrats on a seriously brilliant piece of work.
first and foremost, thanks so much! (5 weeks on the top 200 charts and counting!)
we spent about half a day messing around with several different cab simulators and impulses and other shit like that
we ended up sticking with the pod farm cab sim. mostly because i was familair with its eq / spectrum.
i would advise platinum because its really inexpensive (199?), and you'll get all the packs for any tone crafting
Are you for real??
Thanks man, i appreciate it.
Problem is, Pod Farm Platinum is around 290, which i dont think i can afford for another few years. the ordinary edition is only 100 , so my question is more like "would i really be missing out on absolutely essential sims by taking the more affordable route?"
this is the comparison of models in each edition:
http://line6.com/podfarm/models.html
if i would be suffering badly without Platinum then i probably wont bother at all.
Also, may i ask, did the post-PodFarm signal need any rediculous treatment or was it a case of the usual EQ and a bit of sweetening?
Thanks again man!
the biggest thing i had to do was cut a lot of 4k
thats about it
you'll want access to the metal sims, so if those arent available in the regular version dont bother...
