CALIFORNIA GUITAR EXTRAVAGANZA:
SHREDSTOCK Tour and Viral Video Contest Announced

This July, guitar masters Steve Smyth (Nevermore, Testament), Doug Doppler (Guitar Hero), and L.A. fretmaster Adrian Galysh are bringing Shredstock to venues across California. Six guitar filled nights featuring a 45 minute set from each artist are guaranteed to satisfy the guitar fanatic in you. And if you’ve got the goods, you could open up the show if you’re a winner in the the Shredstock Viral Video Contest!

About Shredstock: Shredstock’s roots lie in guitar legend Uli Jon Roth’s Sky Academy Concert series, where Steve, Doug, and Adrian were invited to join the founding father of both the Scorpions and Neo-Classical Rock on stage. From there they joined forces and created Shredstock. According to Doppler, “The impact of Guitar Hero has been nothing short of amazing in terms of inspiring multiple generations of guitar players. There are so many players at home chomping at the bit to jump up on a real stage with a live audience. Steve, Adrian and I decided it was a great time to hit the road to promote our discs and to give guitar fans a different kind of guitar tour – one that they could actually be a part of.”

About the Shredstock Viral Video Contest: Three winners for each city on the tour will have a chance to open the show with a solo or song of their choice. Contestants simply need to visit http://www.YouTube.com/Shredstock, upload a of video of themselves playing, send a link to friends and family, and he or she with the most plays wins!

Well, 7 shows in 8 days (the "7th" one being a private party performance), and I have to say, it was great fun to do this tour first, with my friend and bro, Steve Hoffman, and also our good friends Ron Redeen on drums, and Brian Spaulding on 2nd gtr. We had 4 rehearsals spread over a week's time, (between my residency at National Guitar Workshop SF) and faced a real challenge; how much of this music could we pull off successfully every night?

Well, I am waiting for the video tape and audio to be done from these shows, but can tell you from the reaction of those who attended the shows on this first run of Shredstock 2008, we did it!

My thanks to Ron and Brian, for coming together with Steve and I on this, and recreating the music as we could, and for your commitment throughout to making this a reality! You guys are awesome!

My thanks also go out to Adrian Galysh and Doug and Melissa Doppler, for doing all they could to put this together, and keep it moving on the road, and for playing their hearts out every night! You guys (and gal) are great man!

To those that came out to the shows, on behalf of Steve, Ron, Brian, and I, Thank You! You guys made it happen for us!

To those who missed out, let us know where we can book your town, and we'll get out there to you soon enough!:headbang::headbang::headbang:

Hey Steve,

Tommy was supposed to come and see you playing in SF, did you meet him?

I asked to him to buy a eS&eS cd for me and send it to Poland, I hope he did it coz if he did not, I am gonna grab him by his neck and wipe the floor with the bandana he usually wears :loco::loco::loco:

:lol::lol: Hey Soulflypl,

Tommy did make it out, we hung out for a bit before and after the show, and he also bought you 2 items we had for sale. Not giving it away what the second item is right now, but we'll have them for sale on our website and at future shows soon!:headbang::headbang::headbang:

Hey, Steve. Glad to hear the shows were successful. I met you back in '05 when you were touring with Nevermore, opening for Opeth, and I saw Dragonlord in '02. Where in the northeast US can I find your cd? Thanks.
