I wonder how loud these are compared to normal fans. I've wanted bladeless fans for years, mostly in hopes of them being noiseless, but that device still seems to make a fair amount of noise when turned up.

I expected it to be really bladeless and work like one of these "antigravity" toys, that ionize the air by an electric coil at one side and pull the ionized air to the second coil at the other side.

This Dyson fan is not really bladeless, the blades are hidden inside.





ps. And about the sweat shops in 3rd world countries: go and ask the workers if they prefer to work in the sweat shop, or prostitute themselves on the streets, or die of hunger - it is a lesser evil.

It is fairly quiet, but it still emits a little bit of noise.

hahaha i found out about this this morning before i saw this post. i was looking at one of those magz the airlines have infront of your seat, and the gadget section had one of those. pretty cool i thought...but that's it.

I'm talking purely about Dyson vacuums vs. Oreck vacuums. What Dyson invented here with the bladeless fan is unique, but if it's like his other products, it will be built like complete shit (and cost a fortune.)
