That's funny... I just noticed this thread for some reason...
You want to know soemthing?
She interviewed me too.
Let me tell you the whole story..........
She contacted JAXX to do an interview about Dark Funeral, and wanted people to talk to about the music, (all this was probably back in November) The management at Jaxx gave her my phone number and contact information
and she and I have been talking on the phone quite frequently.
I never understood what was her motive to do this story, but I still gave her my best answers.
Needless to say, that just like any other reporter or someone who doesn't know "metal" or "black metal" the questions were very generic and mainly focused on "the satanic aspect" of the music. Being an intelligent person, of course I told her that most metal heads don't take the satanic lyrics too seriously and most of us love it for the art and music. (and yada yada around that)
*I* took her to the show at Jaxx too.... showed her the club, showed her people... I know a lot of great people that go to a lot of shows at Jaxx, and I told her she should also talk to them because they are great and smart:
BUT NOOOOO- out of everybody at Jaxx, she went and talked to those idiotic kids who wear corpse paint and that are 14 years old accompanied by their parents... she took pictures of some idiots who were all "goth" and KVLT
-well I guess that's what a reporter really wants...
why talk to intelligent people who can shed some interesting light on this scene?
I feared that I might be misquted and taken out of context and the longer it took to the Washington Post to publish the story- I was worried that my name would appear in the newspaper with out-of-context quotes.
So a few weeks ago, I gave her a call and asked not to be exclusively quoted (with my full name and all) - and I'm glad I did.
Not a bad story, but pointless IMO. What was the point of that?
and the guy she did end up quoting is fucktard who knows nothing about this music... shame.
So yeah, there you have it, I'm sorry I'm replying to this thread just now...
BTW: I am a little bit quoted but within the story: she never knew what Pagan/ Viking metal is, and never knew the difference between Death metal and Black and Thrash, and I was the one who told her about Metallica's story... anyways, like I said: we talked A LOT.
