What do you think about the new CD and the production?

I realy like that the new CD isnt mastered up to -6RMS.
Productions is ace. Realy love the kick and snare.
I think I hear slate toms

Guitars are a little overgained for my taste, but they work perfectly!!!

CD gets 7/10 from me.
Because it has some hits but for my taste not enough.
Also the title track is somehow strange and doesnt work with the rest of the cd.

That woman is actually a dude. And to be honest: I hate that chuggah-chuggah-break-chuggah-break so much it's ridiculous I mean... it's absolutely okay to have breakdowns but most bands seem to have absolutely no skill to write shit. "Okay, what part now?" "I have no idea, dude!" "How about that?"

missing the times when a breakdown was a special element and no scene dominating rule (like august burns red and their china thing). don't get me wrong, i liked the last cd, but i got to a point where i need more to get impressed than a well edited breakdown....

Yeah the CD is good but the song "between the lines" promised to much imo.

I think my buddy Rutcho worked on this. I'm not sure I don't have the CD yet, but I remember he said he worked with TGI. It had to have been this disc.

although im not in any way a fan of bands like the ghost inside, i think their last album (production wise) was very nice.
it actually went up to -3 db rms at times... still the whole thing was punchy enough. i think it was zack ohren who mixed and also mastered this (i may be wrong)

gotta check the new one out, although (again) i try to avoid listening to scene-ish bands, i miss good songwritign skills and uniqueness.

breakdown parts can be very emotional and put into the right context they can make a song from cool to woowww.
think pravus from meshuggah (the part where everyone goes - i looove that) or deftones diamond eyes the last riff... goddamn i live for those moments.
taking an emotion to the extreme. - or think tools schism // unbelievable how emotional those parts become.
but yeah i know - all of those are extremely well writen songs (and i know you guys wouldnt call these parts breakdowns - right?) -

anyway, i miss that in almost every new band coming up today (in the metal). and the younger these guys are - the less songwriting skills i see...

damn, your right... i forgot switching on aes 17 standard
thats something they started in wavelab 6 - so yeah its - 6 db,
still one of the loudest masters ive heard in a long time,
and i still liked it.

Love TGI but when you compare the production quality to Fury I think this one is just lackly slightly. Is it just me or can others hear a weird sound in the last 22 seconds of Through the Cracks? Kinda like a squelching sound when the guitars cut in and out. Might just be me :S
