.. with some ideas about live recording, pro tools and Jensen's revelation about triggers.

Looking forward to this. Their last one didn't have the non-stop aggression of the earlier ones, but changing things a bit served them pretty well IMO.

Cool band. I like everything they've done and I think the natural approach works for them. Thanks for posting the video!

Yeah, Peter Dolving is quite a schizo nut case!

I really liked Marco Aro, too. That guy had some serious brutal pipes. Dolving sounds more like a pissed off maniac.

i don't see what the big deal is about them not using triggers. Honestly most of the stuff from one kill wonder and on haven't been so immensly fast of techincal to need triggers, although one kill wonder had some faster moments. They aren't nile or dimmu borgir. Lately they've been doing more mid tempo and melodic stuff anyway.

I did something like that a while back, for a 'delay' kind of thing while strumming.

I no longer strum anything. I haven't the faintest idea where it is. I don't like the word 'strum' at all, really, that seems to bother me more than anything else about it.

I'm psyched as fuck about the oncoming album. The Haunted is one of my all-time favourite bands, and The dead eye was a bit of disappointment to me after rEVOLVEr, which I consider one of the best metal albums ever. I almost shat myself when I heard No compromise for the first time, and I think I actually did shat myself when seeing them live and having Dolving's spit fly all over my face during 99 :)

The Dead Eye is my favorite of theirs. Granted, rEVOLVEr was great too, but The Dead Eye just had so much more depth to it.

Also, sexy bass tone.

The Dead Eye sounded a bit too weak for my taste compared to the excellent attitude and rockin' of rEVOLVEr and One Kill Wonder, and also the sound is a bit mushy especially after the awesome tightness of rEVOLVEr which I still hold as one of the Top 10 best mixed albums I've heard. Such clarity.

Exactly what I think :) While the production on rEVOLVEr might not be of the common, ultra-polished type often heard in modern metal, it suits the album perfectly and makes it sound aggressive as fuck.

That's how I feel about The Dead Eye, too... a lot more going on, it seems, and the production seems to 'hide' things exactly where they should be hidden. Both are amazing, but I'm especially impressed by how well suited that album's production is for it.

I prefer The Dead Eye to rEVOLVEr. I feel like the Dead Eye just has better songwriting. The fast songs on rEVOLVEr were amazing, but the slow songs were kind of a drag. On The Dead Eye, I feel like the slow songs are just as good as the fast songs. I also like the lyrics more on The Dead Eye.

i think the song writing is slightly better on the dead eye, but production wise i think revolver is much better. I wouldn't change anything about the sound of revovler, but the dead eye is filled with little mixing things that get on my nerves (sharp sibilant vox, fizzy gtr tone, etc.)

One kill wonder is the best though. I miss marco aro.
