ps: ATR stands for All That Remains

wild guess; could it perhaps depend on what type of speakers they were using at that perticular gig? rented shit? just dialed in a descent tone at soundcheck? its a bit far fetched to compare studio settings to a single amp live setting dont you think?
seen them loads of times and honk or no honk, their tone has always been great (pre ENGL that is, it went downhill from there)

I've seen ATR last 1,5 years ago, they had the same settings on teh 5150's. Their tone wasn't what i'd call "heavy", but it had such clarity that i was able to hear every note in every riff they played... so i guess it works for them.

Remember that live settings and studio settings are completely different in terms of what works and what doesn't. Live, you want maximum amount of mids, and very little bass and treble (in terms of amount, not absolute values). Those will be covered by the bass guitar and cymbals anyways.

My settings recorded and live were never too different. I'd never put mids on 8 live. Speshully with a 5150, that's just peanutbutter city.

The guitarists in my old band played 5150s, and they had similar EQ settings, with some serious mids. Sounded great in the rehersal room, never had a chance to mic it up though

IMO the OKW tone rules, and the Revolver tone is fucking terrible, so that's definitely an important distinction!
