The History of Iron Maiden - Part 1: The Early Days IS HERE!!!

I don't know...

How can I tell? None of the concerts seemed to be... they all seemed to have Dave one side and Adrian the other.

Also... I have to ask this.

Are Iron Maiden a power metal band? Lots of people I know attack power metal and call it gay blah blah blah... and then say how awesome Iron Maiden are. When I put it to them that Iron Maiden could be called power metal they say they're 'traditional metal'

But... what makes them different from say, 80s Helloween?

They have (since Bruce joined) the big operatic singer's voice
The lyrics about really nerdy stuff
The really melodic guitar riffs and solos

Can someone clear this up for me? I still find it silly that people can dismiss power metal but then like Iron Maiden just because they're a highly respected band in metal.

Ithink its pretty good considering all the stuff ( Never seen Any footage od Dortmund or Live at the Rainbow, that Doco in Black & white was pretty good as well )on there so I cant wait for parts 2 to 15 or whatever there will BE

I'm guessing the next two parts of the history will be:

Powerslave to Seventh Son

NPFTD to Virtual XI

Although I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't bother with that last one.

I think it'd be fitting to release one covering NPFTD to VXI on only betamax. Then a sparkling new DVD for BNW, and then just scribbled notes for DoD.
