Hey folks,

I don't know if this has been asked as a thread before, but I'd just like to know (not only from travis) how important it is being able to draw well for graphic design, especially the kind of style that alot of you do?
I'm an aspiring graphic designer, but unfortunately cannot draw very well.
I'm taking lessons and shit, but I'd just like to know how important sketches and drawings arfe for your works!

thanks alot,
yannick!

very good question because I was pencil artist in my younger years (http://www.nightwish.com/gallery/displayimage.php?album=toprated&cat=-10&pos=0) I've been doing a lot of portraits before getting in touch with acrylic painting and stuff like that. All I can say is it depends only from where you're going. I am also graphic designer for living and all I need to do is simple sketches to express my ideas before getting to work. In other words you need to have a good concept not good sketches. Sketches need to be small and quickly done...you dont need to draw perfectly, its not related together.

good luck!
