The In Flames board is gone....!

That's exaclty what made me :tickled:, I thought the explanation wasn't necessary, but cool, Turner, thanks for doing it anyway. LOL

hahaha
the real reason in flames took the board down was because their new album was the shittiest "metal" release of the year and no one liked it. so they take their forum down, no one complains on their forum about the new album, and what they can't see can't hurt them.

now they'll just move it to roadrunner.com and users with the name MuDvAyNe666 can say how cool it'd be if N*Flaymz toured with killswitch engeighe.

stick your heads in the FUCKING mud.

from what Ive heard from RTR, I agree with deadskin, the album is just mix of clean vox with some death, or more vicous yelling vox.Not as bad as everyone is making it out to be.

If a band puts out an opus like Jester Race, and then matches that with an album like Whoracle.....why the hell would you like the stuff that is subpar to what the band can achieve? I could barely sit through the midless drudgery that was Reroute to Remain (or reroute to dogshit as I call it).

band evolution my arse.

example of bands that have evolved:
IMMORTAL

In Flames has NOT evolved. they have DEvolved.

actually it is kinda our decision to like it or not, since it is well.....kind of mass produced for the public

I think the big problem everyone has with bands like IF, Metallica or megadeth is that they released such INCREDIBLE music, and then came out with such MEDIOCRE music.Fans feels cheated and left with the impression "what the fuck?"

thats true, but most bands make music to please themselves (IE: Metallica) and thats what people dont get. Metallica has never been ABOUT the fans, its always been about METALLICA. of course there will be some CDs you dont like... BECAUSE they werent written to please the public

but metallica chose a horrible time to write that music, write after the grunge era, so you can't blame a person for considering it "sell-out".Same with TBA, it was made when hard rock was big.If there is a nu metal-vibe or something in the new metallica album, then I will KNOW that them "projects" were INDEED about the money.

there's three kinds of band evolution:
1. where the band doesn't change a bit.
2. where the band changes for the better.
3. where the band changes for the worst.
and as fans who buy music and go to shows, it is up to us whether we like the new or lack of direction.

don't worry, if whorebands stop making their accustomed to millions, you'll see them quickly revert to their old style, and they'll claim they're getting "back to their roots."

and if they proceed in the same evolutionary direction despite sales falloff, they you know they're into music just for its own sake (even if they still suck monkey balls._)

meh....i just stick to most of these band's early-midperiod shit....

in flames....dark tranquillity....fuck even At The Gates (i don't think the later shit was nearly as cool as the earlier shit...but thats me)

i TRIED to listen to the new IF cd....man i just couldn't get behind it....too "pop" for me....i don't really care for more upbeat sounding shit....

if you like it, good for you, if you don't....fuck who gives a shit, cuz theres always better out there anyway.

funny, Metallica always claimed to be about the fans.
listen to whiplash live:
"we'll never stop, we'll never quit, cause YOU'RE metallica!"

don't try and out-metallica me, they were my favourite band for like 7 years.
