It doesn't matter wether it actually SOLD well or not. If Metallica's "Black" album didn't sell well, would it be considered less of a comercial attempt?

Same thing with Megadeth's risk...! So because it DIDN'T sell very good, does that mean that you think it is GREAT like Rust In Peace?

It's not about how much money they make... It's how much they compromise and change their style.

Progression is good... (take Death, Martyr, Atheist... for example!), but when a band's style is compromised on the idea that "Change is Good", it is a different thing.

Are you Deaf? Listen to Politics of ecstasy, and then DHIADW, which album showcases Nevermore's Songwriting AND Musical-talents?? POE!!

DUH! That was exactly what I was saying! The selling records theory seems to be what metalized was focusing on...I was discounting it as you just did. The amount of sales are meaningless. And no I am not deaf, I never said that DHIADW was better than the rest of their albums or any specific one. DHIADW doesn't compromise their style imo either. When I put it on I know its Nevermore and it isn't such a complete alteration of style that I am wondering what happened to my favorite band. I think some people here need to get a grip. You aren't married to the band members. When they change their style a bit (and I mean a small change as in DHIADW) then you act as if you are breaking up with the band...like it is some divorce. Just because a band changes in some way doesn't ALWAYS mean they are on the road of Metallica, Megadeth, etc. I think everyone will shut up once Enemies of Relaity comes out and kicks your ass.

I hope you don't REALLY think that if a band decides to change over the course of 10 years that it means they're selling out...

You know, tastes do change. People get sick of playing the same fucking types of riffs, over and over again. You expand your horizons or find other sources of inspiration.

The very idea of calling a band like Nevermore "sell-outs" just pisses me off...regardless of what you think of their material, they put their heart into it. What, because a song is in a major key, it's selling out? What the fuck consitutes a sell out?

If Nevermore continued to write music JUST for a particular crowd, despite what they felt in their hearts, wouldn't that be selling out more than progressing on to what they really wanted to do?

Drop the sell out bullshit..I'm sick of hearing it. If you don't like the album, don't listen to it.

PS...Metallica is a totally different story and I'm not going to get into it here. They should rename their band "The law offices of Ulrich and Hetfield". And this is coming from an ex-devotee of their music...

When i put on DHIADW, i think "Is this Nevermore? or is this Iced Earth? Or one of the millions in the thralls of power-metal ranks??"

Fuck you, you stupid peace of BLIND shit. That is what i just explained to you, you stupid cunt. I don't think that nevermore have sold out! Every time a band releases an album that is not up to par, and someone thinks that their older stuff is better, then stupid FUCKS like you jump in and say "oooh ooh, i hate people who say they have sold out" FUCK YOU. I have NEVER said that nevermore sold out.

I personally hope that Enemies of Reality will kick EVERYONE's ass, and it will be a great album, just like POE, IM and DNB are.... But that won't change the fact that DHIADW is not as good as their other releases...

If metallica suddenly released an AWESOME prog-thrash album like ...And justice for all, would that mean that Load and ReLoad are GOOD albums?? FUCK NO!!

Listen to Poe and DHIADW back to back... Then listen to Horror Show and DHIADW back to back... which two are more similar??

Exactly.

Wah Wah I wanted POE 2! Why can't Nevermore make music just for me instead of doing what they want to!:waah: Its true, if you don't like it listen to what you do like and stop crying about it.

POE and DHIADW

IE sounds nothing like Nevermore...anyone classifying Nevermore as a power metal band has their head up their ass.
