It doesn't matter wether it actually SOLD well or not. If Metallica's "Black" album didn't sell well, would it be considered less of a comercial attempt?
Same thing with Megadeth's risk...! So because it DIDN'T sell very good, does that mean that you think it is GREAT like Rust In Peace?
It's not about how much money they make... It's how much they compromise and change their style.
Progression is good... (take Death, Martyr, Atheist... for example!), but when a band's style is compromised on the idea that "Change is Good", it is a different thing.
Are you Deaf? Listen to Politics of ecstasy, and then DHIADW, which album showcases Nevermore's Songwriting AND Musical-talents?? POE!!
DUH! That was exactly what I was saying! The selling records theory seems to be what metalized was focusing on...I was discounting it as you just did. The amount of sales are meaningless. And no I am not deaf, I never said that DHIADW was better than the rest of their albums or any specific one. DHIADW doesn't compromise their style imo either. When I put it on I know its Nevermore and it isn't such a complete alteration of style that I am wondering what happened to my favorite band. I think some people here need to get a grip. You aren't married to the band members. When they change their style a bit (and I mean a small change as in DHIADW) then you act as if you are breaking up with the band...like it is some divorce. Just because a band changes in some way doesn't ALWAYS mean they are on the road of Metallica, Megadeth, etc. I think everyone will shut up once Enemies of Relaity comes out and kicks your ass.
