I think you're confusing things. According to the test, your connection's download speed is 6.47 megaBITS, which means getting a download rate of 750 kiloBYTES is pefectly normal. Likewise, with my 24 megaBITS connection, I can usually hit a bit over 2 megaBYTES per second.
You're right. I'm confusing the test results with what I'm supposed to be getting. Moment of frustration. That should help when I call back. My bad, that lady worked me up.
I love how you can just paste the url of your speedtest result into your browser and change the number to view other peoples result. If I deduct 1 from mine I get http://www.speedtest.net/result/1644074663.png
Holy shit, Kiev has speeds of 86 Mbit/s
Yes, and for good reason. The bit is a well defined unit, the byte is machine dependant and therefore no use for measuring speeds between arbitrary machines
but to be fair, its because the people here are idiots and decided to use a 2nd rate provider just because the corporate office which is 60 miles away has an account with them. So for them, the actual provider is only like 15 miles away and they get good speeds ... we get the crap thats left over
Can't wait to get home where I truly get to be a butterfly
