hi all! i will be known as jalien for the duration of my time here. i am obviously new here, but not to music. i've been playing instruments, playing in bands and recording music since i was around 12. my fav genres are (in no particular order): classic rock, metal, thrashmetal, deathmetal, blackmetal and grindcore. my fav bands are (in no particular order and most listened to): maiden, napalm death, severed savior, hour of penance, emperor, old mans child, camel, danzig, dimmu borgir, fleshgod apocalypse, ihsahn, obscura, the kovenant, cream, steely dan, yes, beatles, journey, and fleetwood mac. i'm sure there's a few missing but they are what i have been CURRENTLY listening to--not my whole collection by any means.
I was raised in the 80's so new wave and synth-pop are other genres i like as well as ahem...grgrgrgbbbbgrb-dubstep-ggrgrrrhbbblll...

although i dont play live anymore, i still write for my projects, jam with friends and occasionally record a band. I have a small set-up in my garage that's all digital and includes: 4 guitars, 3 basses, e-drumset, line 6 ux2, di, tascam 1800, maya 1010, nady 8 mic pre, audix-mxl-sennheiser and cad mics and a few other things.
i also enjoy tennis, bf3/4, killing nazi zombies and treating my mustang like a race-car.
I am glad to be a member here finally (i used to always search for info and i would end up here anyway) and want to learn all i can from you guys/girls.
