I listened to their myspace samples and I'm on the fence whether I like them enough to buy their album. However your appraisal of it is certainly influencing my decision.

It's definitely a great album and I'd place it in my top 5 from this year. I liked it initially but was a bit hard to get into, but it since has grown on me. The album is about 70mins long, and sounds great with headphones. There are some of the more upbeat songs on there, but also some slow atmospheric/industrial-ish instrumental parts. I'd compare it to Satyricon's Rebel Extravaganza and Thorns' self-titled album.

I'm still digesting Revel Extravaganza but it's likely to become my least favorite Satyricon album, so I hope your comparison favors the better aspects of it being combined with Thorns' modernistic approach.

I really liked Rebel Extravaganza actually, it may just be my favourite from Satyricon or at least up there. Though, I found little interest in that album when I first listened to it then it really grew on me. I really like the structure of the album, I think it's very well-written.

If I were you, I'd probably just download the album before deciding whether or not to buy it if you're unsure.
