The Legend of Zelda

The new Zelda game is amazing but unfortunately nothing really fresh in the series.

It does stand on par with Ocarina of Time (quickly followed by The Mask of Majora which was challenging as all Hell to get everything done and found).

Still have to the new one but have the urge to go and get the two Gameboy AColour games -Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Time. As well as the Minish Cap for the Gameboy Advance.

As for the Wii: it's a really great system if you are just after out and out game playing.
Especially with Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, Resident Evil 4, Super Smash Brothers Brawl (out next year) and all the old console games that you can purchase (and run better then you can on an emulator, which is the appeal of buying them).
And now you have all the Neo Geo games being released on the virtual console, you can really live up old school gaming.

But, if you want a good game challenge and an interesting story with some really well rendered characters and scenarios, then you really do have to play The Legend of Zelda: The Twilight Princess.

the wii is pathetic. a pc from 2003 has more potential as far as graphics sound and performance.

its great for kids, though.

and a link to the past is the best game by far. followed by zelda II for the nes ( for the dark storyline)

You see what you did there, right? You denounced the Wii for its technical inferiority to its peers, and then picked out a 15 year old game as the best member of a series that continues to this day.

awww man and graphics, sound, and performance is totally the whole point of what the wii is all about! what a total failure!

seriously, you're a jackass.

lol @ you.

the whole point of a next gen system is to be a next gen system. having a motion sensing controller is intuitive, but doesn't warrant buying it. you're buying the same rehashed games on the same rehashed system.

who the fuck needs 9 mario parties? come on.

from the standpoint of an avid gamer, im not looking for a nostalgia trip. i STILL own the games so the virtual console does nothing for me. the internet on the wii? big fucking deal. thats what 2 gigs of ram in my pc is for. the weather? i'll watch the news.

when the biggest game for the wii (zelda) is already available on the cube, i see no point in buying a system. metroid is fun, but metroid is always fun. its the same game over and over again.

i could go on all day about why not to buy a wii, but you're probably one of the fucking idiots that waited 3 days in 10 feet of snow for one.

shove a wiimote in your ass. im playing bioshock.

yes i did pick it out for its technical inferiority. zelda is a great series, im not disputing that. but zelda could've easily been made for any other platform.

jesus christ theres a lot of nintendo fan boys in here.

I haven't (for the record) owned a console since the PS1

Though I do still own a small library of SNES games (no system to play them on but we all use ROMS nowadays anyhow)

Also, I agree the Link to the Past is the best Zelda game, which tells me that the technical capabilities of a system do not determine how much fun it is to play.

actually i dont have one because to me video game consoles are a waste of money (i wouldnt play it enough), but i am definitely more interested in something new (you are SERIOUSLY understating the advance and totally new gaming experience you get with the motion sensing controller), rather than more first person shooters that are better on a PC anyway.

I just want a Wii because it's cheap. I wonder whats the cheapest I could find one on Ebay? Damn I want to play that Oblivion expansion though...If only Shenmue III would come out. :waah:
