did we ever find the pirates? or was there some kinda stockholm syndrome thing going on there?

I downloaded it yesterday, and since I'd heard the Coquette demos that had come out last year, I'm not that amazed with the release. It is indeed a great release but it lacks the punch and progginess of Leitmotif. I'd say its a better album that El Cielo though. The songs are more streamlined, have greater mainstream appeal, and singing is VASTLY improved.
Definitely one of my favs. of the year so far.

so, what is official new album?

The official album is the first one, Catch Without Arms. Where the hell did those other tracks come from, and where did you obtain them?

/me wants.

Those are from a seemingly fake leak. Also, it may be possible that there are three more songs(instrumentals) that were not included in the webrip as the singer for dredg said there would be a total of 15 songs; now, if that's true, it would round out the album nicely.

well, this is not fake.
there are some tracks that are same on both releases, but everything sounds like dredg to me (on both "albums").

so: not fake, not on album, what is it then? i don't get it :)

um...B-sides. outtakes. unreleased songs. Tracks they recorded but decided not to put on the official release.

for the good of the forum, you must put all those tracks up on yousendit.com. :)

Now that I've heard catch without arms a decent amount of times, I would have to say I'm kinda disappointed. El Cielo was an awesome progression from Leitmotif, but Catch Without Arms is just like dancier, not as good, El Cielo B-sides. I like the album, the songs are pretty catchy, which isn't always bad, but I expected more from these guys. This kind of album could make Dredg extremely popular, but I doubt that's what they set out to do. I remember reading an interview how they wanted a dancier feel to this album, and I don't necessarily have a problem with that, but the songs themselves aren't too impressive. It's hard to distinguish one song from another, and that's never a good thing. Oh well, it's still worth having though.

Excellent live and even if you don't care much for the new record... they'll play stuff from earlier releases and it all pretty much kicks ass.

Out.
