yea their cd Waking Into Nightmares fuckin thrashes! get it!

Evile gonna step it up amirite? ;)

Its alright. I've said this on here before but I'll sya it again...

Quite simply, its not good enough. Yeah its leaps and bounds etter than War Without End but thats not saying much. Warbringer are a bunch of immensely talented musicians who clearly have a passion for what they do and they have a clear vision of what they want to achieve, but their sound doesn't work that well. A majority of their tracks comes across as boring and repetitive, depsite containing some brilliant riffs.

Waking Into Nightmares is much better than their debut and they seem to be finding their sound now, but it still falls far short of the mark. Heres hoping the next one will be their defining moment.

I really need to get that album...... I thought War Without End was great, but like Dave said, some songs come across kinda boring.

I say their overrated. Their riffs are meh, the arrangements are boring, their leads are weak, and their lyrics suck. This band is just not original enough , and putting blastbeats in thrash is not my cup of tea. Evile is better than them, and Evile has a better lead guitarist.

john laux ledarned in his bedroom and ol studied music theory. there's no comparison. Ol's going to be better. but i agree with dave in that if the third album is as much of an improvment as nightmares is over war without end it will kick gratuitous ass

I thought Ol studied Jeff Waters Theory. But in all seriousness he studied music theory?

And Warbringer are meh.The drums on the first album are just horrible. The new one is ok.

Theory doesnt make you write good riffs.

Yeah he studied theory, it helps alot when it comes to understanding music.

I started studying theory a bit lately because I'm kinda tired of relying on blues for the basis of everything I write. Studied theory a bit and I can already see myself improving as a musician in general and not just a guitar player.

I always struggle to write good thrash riffs. I've no fucking idea how Matt and the lads do it.

I have that same problem, I hate it.

I was shown the basics to music theory in school by my awesome teach Jez Platt, then after school I looked into it on my own.

I know theory to an extent and can read music, but I know theory in terms of knowing what notes can go where, what notes can't, or how to make the notes which can't, fit. blah blah blah. I play piano a bit too but haven't had the time to properly learn, just taught myself.

when I'm old i'll take the piano up

Does that mean some of the songs on the new album will have piano solos?

EDIT : Sorry for the double post lol

At least you and a few of the other people on here can actually make music. I STILL have a hard time COVERING songs...... I think I only know how to play...... 2 whole songs, both by Linkin Park

I dont read music. I mean I guess I could figure it out, I can figure out what note it is and play it on a guitar or a piano. But I cant have written music in front of me and read it fluently. I used to think I didnt write good riffs, it took some time. A lot of practice is all you need. Listen to a lot of different styles of music etc, etc.

Thats just solos right? I mean with riffs there is an endless possibility. I wouldnt say theory is the main drive in riffs at all, you just gotta have something meaty and cool as fuck in mind and know how to play whats in your head.
