The official metal 2012 thread

BAN needs to just make MVIII - it's their only chance at high quality any more, they've done the industrial sound to death.

New Winterfylleth song from the album The Threnody of Triumph, out September 25th.

Cool, they fucking rock! Hey, that's Scots Pine there, nice coincidence for me, great cover.

Looks more like Scotland than England though (winterfylleth are English right?)

What a load of bull. The first volume of 777 had much more to offer than MVII.

TWWTG is the only industrial-BM BAN album I've heard that doesn't sound boring as hell. Granted, MVII wasn't as good as MVI, but it was still better than this stuff.

You like what you like, I guess, but I really think 777 Sects has a lot more dimensions to it than MVII. More imaginative compositions and a really impressive blend of harmony and dissonance. To me MVII is just a series of pretty melodies that don't really go anywhere.

Well MVII *is* still only their 4th best album so...what can we expect really? I'm not sure even that one is a keeper.

New Orleans metal misanthropes HAARP will release their new studio offering, "Husks", on September 18 through Housecore Records. The follow-up to 2010's "The Filth" offers up three tracks of crushing, post-apocalyptic dirge.

"Husks" was recorded at the University of New Orleans Performing Arts Center, Fountainbleau Room 7011, and Nodferatu's Lair by DOWN/ex-PANTERA frontman and Housecore owner Philip H. Anselmo, engineered by Steve Berrigan and Nathan Weidenhaft and mastered at Visceral Sounds by Scott Hull.

Comments the band in a collective statement: "With 'Husks', we've maintained the sound we developed over our last few releases while adding some new elements and showing some additional influences."

"Husks" track listing:

01. Deadman/Rabbit
02. Bear
03. Fox

Wormed have finally given some news on their new album but it sounds like its going to be a 2013 release and not late 2012.

Wormed said:
We are very proud to announce that only one month left to start recording our new album with Carlos Santos at Sadman Studios (Human Mincer, Hamlet, Doppler, Vita Imana, Adrift…etc). Prepare yourself for the most intense cosmic voyage outside your insignificant galaxy! New updates coming soon.

Dopethrone - III is out now digitally. Dont know about a physical release yet.
