Terrorizer (#128 or #129) review

NOCTUARY
'Promo 2004'
Not quite what one would expect from the too-long-silent Noctuary, but why would anyone think these eclectic black/death metallers would rest on their (eclectic) laurels? Well, for one thing, BM here's mostly an abstraction, mostly down to the evocative emotional content of these three dizzying, kaleidoscopic tracks; and the only 'death' is perhaps of that selfsame band's 'Human'-thru-'Symbolic' era, as this is polychromatic, challenging METAL of the highest order. Hooks are huge and so are the complexities, but a brave label would do wise to unleash such poignant adventurousness onto the public. [NTB]

That review sums it up- Noctuary is just an exciting, challenging, talented and highly original band that I think some people here might appreciate a lot. They used to be just melodic black metal (the good kind, actually staying true to the title), but now they have blossomed into SO much more. Go to www.noctuary.net where there are A LOT of songs to listen to. I reccomend checking out the stuff on the MySpace link and the songs available from "When Fires Breed Blood". Enjoy!

Noctuary kicks ass. I was going to see them live a couple months back. But in true california fashion, I pussied out from the rain. I met the guitarist at the merchandise booth for Impaled a week earlier. Pretty cool bloke. But would you expect anything less from a guy who was wearing a HoM shirt? ;)

Yeah... their guitarist has been a good help to Noltem, and they are in general all just really awesome guys. Anyone that takes time to chat with fans is a friend of mine.

iirc the guitarist is Jeff, aka Sadistik who used to frequent opeth off-topic/SOT etc forums...nice guy.
