Death Metal from Portugal
Shore (vocals, guitars) and Jay (bass) founded The Ransack in 2001.
2002 was the year of the release of their first Demo - "Chaotic". In 2004, the promo track "Virus" was recorded with drummer "Zeus". Afterwards, the band supported several bands including local tours of No Return and Cancer.
2005 was marked by the release, through Nebula Records, of the mini-Cd "Necropolis", recorded at Echosystem Studios and produced by Rui Santos (Oratory). This release granted multiple shows to the band and even slots as support band in tours, turning them in one of the most active bands in the nowadays portuguese underground scene. At the end of 2005, a line up change consolidated the band: Loki (guitar) became the fourth and last member of the group, just in time to the support acts for Primordial and, later on, for Dismember, on their last Portuguese tour.
In December of 2006, the band entered the Ultrasound Studios with the producer Daniel Cardoso (Head Control System, Sirius, Reacktor ).
Azrael is the first full album for The Ransack's four piece , «Azrael» is the proof that work on the road really pays out and the result of a unit that got together after several dozens of shows all over the country and even abroad.
«Azrael» is what The Ransack likes to call Extreme Modern Metal, created to crush everything on its path with the elegance of a well oiled machine.
The next album "Vortex" was recorded in the last month and will be released in the begining of 12009...
