If you're not in it for the long haul, try just watching the beginning. And then you tell me if its worth it.

well, that was interesting.
and it was worth watching, some very valid points were made, I was a bit annoyed with how some of the answers to his questions were drowned out by a voice over though. Also Richard Dawkins seemed kinda narrow minded.
But other than that, I pretty much agree with alot of it, especially indoctrinating children into their religion at such a young age, that was pretty sickening, and hell house thing.. that was just fucked up.
Fanatical Christians need to lay off the sauce.

Dawkins definitely has his own mission, a mission much like those of the faith professors he tries to stump, in that he believes very sincerely that his 'beliefs' (or lack thereof) are correct and true. But even though his manner of attacking falsities is rooted in the same inquisition-like style he purports to be against, his convictions are based in absolute empirical science and rationality, and with that in his toolbox, he is infinitely more defendable.

Viva la scientific method!

That thing about the children is so true. A while ago I was extremly intrested in religion and did a lot of writing on a christian forum as an atheist. I actually went from being a very narowminded atheist to being an agnostic. I understood that I was in the same way as christians or any other religion fed with atheism. I absolutly believe in the theory of evolution, but that doesnt necessarily mean that there is nothing behind that.

I've always been agnostic.

Secondly, I find it amazing that this was shown in a two part series, on a UK channel. They would NEVER broadcast this in the United States.

regarding indoctrinating children at a young age: That film coming out, Jesus Camp, scares the shit out of me. I feel so horrible for those kids.


we need to bring "thinking for oneself and making one's own decisions" back into style.

To be honest, after watching this, there really isn't anything in this I already didn't know. I was brought up in a Roman Catholic school, and I actually learnt more about the religion AFTER I decided to move to public school... I've been studying religion ever since.
