The recent polls for best albums have me thinking that the Scorpions are tragically under-appreciated in the metal community.
From approimately 1976 (Virgin Killer) through 1984 (Love At First Sting), they were right there with Priest, Rush and Dio-lead Rainbow/Sabbath/Dio.
Every record released during that period is a masterpiece. And that's not a term used lightly.
Sure, they strayed too far into lackluster songwriting after that, and it's tarnished their legacy, but their classic era is a must for any hard-rocker's collection.
And last year's "Unbreakable" is a great comeback of sorts.
"We'll Burn the Sky"
"Coming Home"
"No One Like You"
"Animal Magnetism"
"Another Piece of Meat"
"Always Somewhere"
"Dynamite"
"Sails of Charon"
"Yellow Raven"
and many more are all burning classics!
