I have just recently moved from the Metal Forums from Myspace (which is almost no discussion on metal now) for more discussion on this music and not be frowned upon. Plus I noticed after a quick skim there's threads on bands themeselves also. Pretty cool.

I have a somewhat diverse collection of music from bands from the extreme portion of metal down to Sabbath/Maiden/Priest.
