Bleh. One and a half hour of mostly crap just to catch a few glimpses our fave band. In order to spare you all what I had to go through I've used my eleet three point video editing skillz to create the Swedish Grammis Awards - Opeth Edition. Two minutes of pure Opeth.

Enjoy.

Thank you! I watched bits of it on tv too, hoping to get some glipses of the band or maybe even a short interview, but was of course disappointed. And I know that this is a free world and not everybody likes Opeth an bla bla bla, but to me it's a scandal that Opeth didn't win the Grammis for best hard rock album, I mean, In flames are nothing in comparison! Oh well...

heh, I thought so too, to be honest, no surprise at all that in flames won the grammy. What does surprise me is that opeth was second place. Fine, I can understand it from the jury but I did not expect them to still be second place after the swedish people had voted... Now I have a bit more self-respect!

On the one hand I want my favorite band to be acknowledged by as many people as possible, but on the other hand...

Award shows suck!
(So does the new In Flames stuff to be honest)

I know, I stalk. From Mikael:

OPETH = LOSERS!

Haha, no I'm not THAT bitter!

We didn't win the Grammy award this year either and I admit I got a little dissapointed although it doesn't really mean anything. Since I'm there at the show I wanna fucking win! But In flames got it. They're mates of ours so I'm happy for them.

I wanna thank all of you who voted for us. Cheers people!

The show was boring as usual, all the same people, same winners, same "surprise" band constellations. Some artists there really have high thoughts of themselves. It's quite embarrassing to see how stuck up some of them are. I mean they don't even have a international career most of them and still they act they're the fucking "deal".

I got completely obliterated on wine and champagne...and beer. My wife too, she got all fucked up. But we had a pretty good time during dinner, chatting and drinking away. The afterparty was at a classic place called Berns and it was packed. We didn't stay for long though.

OK, just letting you know we fucking LOST!

Take care
Mike

He's so right, i hate that mainstream pop artists who are only known in Sweden (which gives them an audience of maybe max 3 million people) are treated like some fucking bigshots while internationally succesful bands, relatively underground like Opeth with fans all over the world are barely recognized.

Takida performed, i think that says all about the credibility of the grammis awards :erk:

^5

Before they got signed on concerts where they were playing in their sorta hometown (where better bands also played later that night) my friends and I used to yell "TAKIDA SUCKS" and give them the finger. It was the lulz of my time.
