Have you ever wondered what music tastes like? If you had a case of musical synaesthesia then you might know. But for those unlucky enough not to have this rare neurological condition, Professor Funk demonstrates just what the "Imperial March" from Star Wars might taste like.
Synaesthesia, which is an unusual neurological link between two distinct sensory or cognitive pathways, has a variety of forms. The most common form is where letters or numbers have an inherent colour. The musical form is very rare, but as Professor Funk mentioned, there is at least one person who does enjoy this altered perception of the world. You are invited to read a little more about the musical synaesthete mentioned in the video.
