me brothers been playing records since i was a really small kid so ive always been more or less into music, but the album that got me into music properly was '...and justice for all' from metallica, and especially the song 'eye of the beholder'. that brings us back to 94 i think.

which album got you into music 4real like?

The Beatles-Help when I was about 7 years old. I liked The Night Before best. Then for every birthday and Christmas me uncle Mike would get me a Beatles record. He gave me a The Who album an all.

i started buying cassettes from roxette and bryan adams. later even some techno stuff... but that episode was very short. somewhere around 12 i guess my sister gave me guns&roses, metallica and new model army stuff to listen to. the abandoned it some time later, but i was hooked. first death metal with growled vocals took some more time though; that was amorphis' tales from the 1000 lakes. before that i heard cheesy blind guardian, even. VALHAAAALAAAAAAA! DELIVERANCE!
boy i need to dig out the old cds once more :)

I was 12, wasn't into music at all.

And then I lighted the TV and it was Def Leppard's "Let's Get Rocked". Was so impressed. I went with my mate at the Music Store and asked for Di Lepar "Andrénaline" and went back home with it. At this time I was thinking that Hard Rock was music for bad guys, music you should not hear. So I was almost fearing to hear the album at the beginning. But after all it was so great!

adam and the ants -stand and deliver 7"

And where the fuck did 12 yr olds get the money to go out and buy def leppard albums on a whim?? you posh gets :erk:

three main streams, three starters (in various points of time):

jarre - equinoxe
pink floyd - a collection of great dance songs
faith no more - the real thing

how the things i listen today evolved from those, i can't really say sometimes, but that was it.

That's cool, having a father that loves modern rock music.

Mine was more into Jazz, the good thing is that he made me a fusion-jazz too, and I showed him that some Heavy Metal Musicians were very good too.
