The worst combination that you've already seen

The Catholic Church and the Middle (Dark) Ages.

This is why our world sucks as much as it does today.

And we would have stayed in the Dark Ages if it weren't for the Catholic institutions of monasticism and scholasticism, which kept kept enough people literate and laid the groundwork for the education system that would bring Europe into the Renaissance.

Next time you open a book and can read what's written in it, thank a humble monk who spent his life keeping the alphabet from going extinct by copying texts, word for word every day.

how about the singer of dimmu teamed with the norwegian rapper?

that was one of the worse thing i've heard.

Aye, indeed.

Of course, I was really referring to the religious aspects of the church during that period.

Hey, if the Church didn't (sometimes forcefully) convert all the pagans during that period, none of your favorite bands would have anything to write about.

In fact, without Christianity, black metal probably wouldn't exist if you think about it.

Maybe not, but they played the biggest role in maintaining any sense of civilization during that period. The Church provided the only infrastructure before secular rulers were able to maintain enough control beyond feudal bounds.

I think you're overstating the case of Catholicism. The Catholic church was not the only group transcribing texts and, in general, being literate.

Your write but the church did a hell of a lot. Please dont try to mock the chruch for mockerys sake....damn it probloly the wrong words to be used.

uh... what?:zombie:

it's pretty astonishing that DEP has garnered any sort of mainstream appeal. Their music is as chaotic and inaccessible as anything I have ever heard

Well people these days find the inaccessible accessible now. Anything that was once uncool is cool in the mainstream now because that they want to be very unique.

Just like everyone else, eh?

Seriously though, the only chaotic bands I can get into are Ephel Duath and Unexpect.
