The ZW EMGs

I'm thinking of getting the Zakk Wylde EMG set, but then I thought, are they any different to just....normal EMGs?

Anyone have any idea?

They're ordinary EMGs. Just in same package.

Don't forget to reverse the order for a more crushing tone.

That is EMG 85 in the bridge, 81 in the neck.

I think the ZW set comes with two different 'sizes' of pot seeing as he need the pickups for a Les Paul whereas a lot, if not most, EMG users will be putting them into an ESP, Ibanez, Caparison, Jackson etc.

I didn't know that about two sizes, I have a MCS Bastard V, and they're standard size pots I think, it'll be alright?

I think you should try which one you like more (in the bridge/neck position) and which one suits to the tone of your guitar's bodywood.

Yup, ZW set are the same ol' EMG pickups and they have pots for both archtop and flattop guitars. You will be good.

As EMGs have the quick-connect option, it is so easy to change them around. Start with whichever you like 81 or 85... I like 85 a lot more, 81 is too trebly for my taste.

Both do that really good. 81 is brighter and more piercing, 85 is more full-bodied and tighter. I would go with 85 on bridge and 81 neck. Actually I just did.

I got the BVi I won on the MCS raffle upgraded to EMG pickups, it should be with me next week. :Spin:

hahaha ohhhh, didn't realize you were from the Shredder, That's what i'm putting the EMGs into, my BVi. Moser fucking rules.

...AND it has one pickup with the Wylde signature on it.

I would have liked a guitar strap like zakk's. Free with pickups.

Anyway they're very good.

I've seen them and there wasn't a signature.

So put the 85 in the bridge, and the 81 in the neck?

Getting them tomorrow, then soon after getting them fitted.

Exactly
