FYI, Ulterium Records has officially released Wages of Sin to YouTube. I know there are quite a few fans who have 2 or 3 of the albums, but are unaware of this song, since it only appears on some Mirror of Souls special editions. Enjoy!

In addition to the digital download of the song available on iTunes, Amazon mp3, Spotify, eMusic or any of those places, there are also available:

Wages of Sin 7" vinyl single:

Great stuff...thanks!

I was late to the party on these guys (as usual). I just picked up "As The World Bleeds" - ALBUM OF THE YEAR!!! I am now ordering Mirror of Souls today......

One of my favorite memories of ProgPower is rocking out to Edguy with Matt Smith also rocking out just a few feet away! :headbang:

This is again some fantastic work by an equally fantastic band. Theocracy doesn't have a bad song in their entire catalog and this is no exception.

Something I've often wondered about...I'd like for Matt to consider re-recording the debut now that Theocracy is a full band. There's some excellent songs on that album that would sound even better with the rest of the boys involved. Anyone else agree?

Brian, that process is underway. The album has been long out-of-print but desired by fans. They are currently working on re-mastering it and - at the very least - re-recording the drums (it was a drum machine at the time).

We've had a long debate on the plusses and minuses of re-recorded vocals over on the Theocracy UM board:

http://www.ultimatemetal.com/forum/theocracy/738509-would-you-accept-re-done-vocals-self-titled-theocracy-album.html

Matt's got several comments in the thread, but here's the most relevant:

Plus, to be honest, the thought of putting that kind of work into something I've already done once just fills me with dread. Each Theocracy album has literally made me physically sick; I don't sleep, I work around the clock, and if I'm not working, I'm obsessing over it in my mind. It's difficult enough to get motivated to go through that again with new projects, much less old ones, you know? Even just recording real drums and remixing it is going to be so much work that I don't even want to think about it.

We have to do something soon, because it's totally out of print and people are constantly asking for it. But I think a remix with real drums is as much as I'll want to do. Although I do like the idea of maybe picking a couple of tracks and recording full-band, up-to-date versions of those as extra tracks or something. We shall see.

Wow...I had no idea this was taking place! Thanks for the heads up! I once had the debut, plus a t-shirt with the cover art on it. I have no unearthly idea what happened to either of them. :erk:

I still have both, though I don't quite fit into that shirt like I did 7 years ago :erk:

I'll be posting on this board when the album is released, so you'll know about it
