my coworkers always go and ask me to go. i'm like 'no thanks' but i'm thinking 'i wonder if they have a waitress that plays *me* there?....'

lamest restaurant idea ever.

i went to some pretty cool Indian restaurants in NYC that seemed to be built in long, skinny trailers. they were pretty decked out with christmas lights and strobes and disco balls and stuff, though.

periodically through the meal they would shut off all the main lights and flash crazy colored lights and play wailing music real loud and dance around.

this lasted about 20 seconds and then would stop and people would go on eating and serving like it never happened.

A 17-year-old boy, after receiving a free Krispy Kreme doughnut at an Erie, Pa., store promotion, stepped back in line for another but was refused. According to the Erie Times-News, he returned a few minutes later with a McDonald's sack over his head and asked for a doughnut but was again refused. Then he fell to the floor and flailed his arms and legs, demanding another free doughnut, and was cited by police for disorderly conduct. [Erie Times-News, 8-25-03]

i've been there. and i like that place a lot.

Are you guys talking about the electric-crazy-town places where there's like three of them side by side that clearly all use the same kitchen and are owned by the same people yet representatives from each come outside to try and drag you into their particular XMas-Lite-FantasyLand instead of the others and its on like 1st or 2nd Ave?

Those places are pretty cool.

well that's what i am talking about!

when you go, tell them it's your birthday. they throw CRAZY birthday parties in there.

YES!

and i did go on a birthday! they gave us a weird blue styrofoam-like cake and did the flashing-lights-and-dancing thing for like two minutes instead of twenty seconds!
